COMRADES, citizens, brothers and sisters, men of our Army and Navy!
My words are addressed to you, dear friends!
Today we will be talking about logical reasoning and arguments. In fact, we are having a systematic lesson on how it works.
Let us suppose that stealing is wrong. I know, in many parts of the world it is punished to lesser extent, but this is just a hypothetical. This is called a premise to your upcoming argument. Every line of reason has them, whether implicit or explicit. Now then, this premise is rather explicit normally, because it is often stated, for example, in United States federal law , or e-Sim laws . Heck, even Hammurabi had (rather strict) laws about theft.
Now let us draft another premise. Suppose that you walk on the street and a guy asks you to borrow your phone to him so he could call his fiance. Or mom. Or sister. Or whatever, you get the point. You look at the guy and he seems honest enough, not on drugs and so forth. It's 2pm on the street with lots of bystanders, so you feel rather safe to lend him the phone for a call. However, as soon as you hand him your precious telephone, he runs away with it and disappears.
Great, we have two premises. Now intuitively we shall think "that guy did wrong", and that will be our conclusion. Now we can finally craft a logical argument based on the premises. Let us suppose that A denotes the first premise, "Stealing is illegal". Accordingly, second premise shall be B, "A guy stole your phone". Our conclusion from the premises shall be aforementioned C, "the guy did an illegal thing by stealing the phone".
With logical components, the whole argument can be summarized as follows:
If A and B, then C. Or even shorter (A⌃B) ▹C.
"^" means "and" and "X▹Y" means "if x, then y". That's all you need today.
But arguments need to be both sound and valid to even be considered effective. Not all arguments are valid and sound, some are not even valid, which is a perquisite for a sound argument. For an argument to be considered valid, it needs to be so that if the premises hold true, then, by definition, the conclusion must stand also true. It is not possible in a logically valid argument that premises are true and the conclusion is false. The validity of an argument is determined with truth tables , but for the purpose of this article I won't dwell more in them. Our argument is valid, because if the premises of it are true, the conclusion is necessarily true too. Our argument is also sound, because the premises are also effectively and in fact true.
Superb. Now when can add more premises. Both in real life and in e-sim there are a sort of a "police" force. In real life, this is called the police. In e-sim, Game Operators enforce the laws mentioned upwards. Let us therefore craft a premise D to our example, "Police should enforce the law". Now when we have a conclusion C and we add the premise D to it, we get to a further conclusion. If the guy did an illegal thing by stealing the phone (C) and Police should enforce the law (D), then the police should catch the guy (E). The whole structure is currently (A⌃B) ▹C, and (C⌃D) ▹E.
Now we can move on to the final part of our argumentation by adding the final premise F, which shall be "The Police is not doing its job enforcing the law".
If and when our all previous premises and conclusions were logically valid, and while F is too, we can modulate that (A⌃B) ▹C, and (C⌃D) ▹E. Therefore (E⌃F) ▹G.
G denotes the conclusion that e-Sim is a trainwreck.
QED.
In E-Sim we have a huge, living world, which is a mirror copy of the Earth.
Well, maybe not completely mirrored, because the balance of power in this virtual world looks a bit
different than in real life. In E-Sim, USA does not have to be a world superpower, It can be
efficiently
managed as a much smaller country that has entrepreneurial citizens that support it's foundation.
Everything depends on the players themselves and how they decide to shape the political map of the
game.
Work for the good of your country and
see it rise to an empire.
Activities in this game are divided into several modules.
First is the economy as a citizen in a country of your choice you must work to earn money, which you
will get to spend for example, on food or purchase of weapons which are critical for your progress
as a fighter.
You will work in either private companies which are owned by players or government companies which
are owned by the state.
After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your
own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock
company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.
In E-Sim, international wars are nothing out of the ordinary.
"E-Sim is one of the most unique browser games out there"
Become an influential politician.
The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics
in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes.
From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability
to run for the head of the party you're in.
You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws
proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself.
Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you.
You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential
elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state
(for example, who to declare war on).
Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have
a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.
You can go bankrupt or become a rich man while playing the stock market.
The international war.
The last and probably the most important module is military.
In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control
over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials.
For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have
to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on
their territory.
You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life
as a pacifist
who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling
products).
At the auction you can sell or buy your dream inventory.
E-Sim is a unique browser game.
It's creators ensured realistic representation of the mechanisms present
in the real world and gave all power to the players who shape the image of the virtual Earth
according to their own.
So come and join them and help your country achieve its full potential.
